The advantages and disadvantages of using blogs in the English classroom

I hope you had a great time in Chile Crystal and that you enjoyed your stay.
Well, this is my last post.
I think that using blogs in our English class was very useful; we have to practice our grammar and all the structures, especially if we are studding public management and reading, writing and speaking English is a requirement increasingly asked to be employed in different organizations.
With this blog I could increase my vocabulary, my writing skills, my grammar and I learned some structures that can be very valuable.
I can express myself better than before and with the different topics that we had to write about, I could elaborated different opinions and criticize others.
Another thing that is very important is the fact that we all had to write about the same topics and we could read our classmates’ opinion and what they wrote; we could easily access to our classmates’ blogs because we had the links to their blogs. We comment our posts and we could correct some mistakes and phrases structures in the blogs.
We all participated and topics were interesting.
I don’t think that using blogs in our English class has disadvantages because we learned many things and as I said earlier we could practice our grammar, vocabulary, structures, verbs, prefixes, suffixes and others.
It was a positive, useful, constructive and handy experience.

Quantum of solace (Thriller/Action)

It is James Bond’s new adventure. In this film agent 007 returns with everything to revenge the death of his beloved Vesper, the girl who he felt in love with and who betrayed him in Casino Royale. The investigation surrounding the death of Vesper lean Bond up to a criminal organization headed by the ruthless businessman Dominic Greene who tries to seize a natural resource and for that reason, he makes a pact with a dangerous dictator in Latin America.

James Bond will be assisted by Camilla a girl who wants to take revenge too.

Daniel Craig plays James Bond´s role, Mathieu Almaric as Dominic Greene, Olga Kurylenko as Camilla, Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis and Joaquín Cosio as General Medrano.
The director of this movie is Marc Forster.

Another important think to consider is that part of the movie was filmed in the north of Chile.

Some of the good points are that this film has more action than the previous ones. It lasts 109 min so it is not a very long movie and you don’t get bored. I think it hasn’t got big bad points… I liked it and I enjoyed it.

I had never heard about this tendency called Land Art. I thing it is a very interesting sort of art because artists use earth elements to create their art. They don’t need paintings and contaminating materials, like spray.
Even if they are beautiful and amazing, this kind of art is unknown by lot of people due to the fact that it is developed in large and natural areas. You can only get a picture of it or a drawing.
These pieces of art don’t last lot of time because nature itself destroys it; it is not like a painting or a sculpture.
This kind of art has become very popular nowadays even if it was created in the 60’s and 70’s. I wish you have shown more your opinion about this sort of art.

Definitively this post is my favorite one, it is very interesting. Your posts in general are very curious and not common and this is very good. I like your blog because it has a simple model and it is easy to handle. You use bright colors and it is not overloaded with pictures…

Piece of Art

Henry Matisse (1869 - 1954) is the artist who created this painting in 1910. He was a French artist known for his use of colors and his fluid, brilliant and original draughts.
I first saw this piece of art when I was 16 years old in my drawing classes at high school.
I like this painting entitled “The Dance” because I think it shows harmony between people in the world and union between them, we can see that they are dancing and they are happy. It makes me think of world peace and freedom. I also like the fact that it invites a free interpretation of the art, light is very important and the colors used are shining, shadows and darkness are left apart. Matisse leaves a side lines and drawings to focus on the essence of the piece.

Pakistan bomb attack targets tribal gathering

Today, in the tribal belt running along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan (Orakzai area) a suicide attack occurred while a traditional gathering between 600 tribal members was taking place. This suicide attack killed up to 50 people and injured other 100.
According to officials they were planning the emplacement of a militia and the destruction of a local Taliban headquarters.
Several attacks had take place across Pakistan during these last weeks, like the bombing at the police headquarters and an attack on the Marriott hotel.
This region has several conflicts between tribesmen, drug dealers and militias. Even the government has approved the intrusion in the area because it concerns the security and stability of Afghanistan.
If the schism of tribesmen between pro-Taliban and anti-Taliban does not decrease it might cause a civil war…

I visite this page almost every week.

I like this page because you can find specific information about the government, the structure of it, people who work in, theire CV and useful information... It is a reliable source.

This website doesn´t employ comedy, it is a boring page but it is very useful. It´s the official page of the Government.
I think comedy is a way to laugh about politicians, how they act, what they say... It´s something that has existed a long time ago. I don´t know if it´s important or not; I just think that it is something integrated into our culture and some people like it, others don´t.

Future

Mmm... well in ten years... I can see myself working maybe in another country or traveling...

I wish i could work in the UN and travel around the world doing diferents kinds of works and in different missions.

I want to be a diplomatic and having a family is not in my plans... Maybe in 15 years...
